Events support multiple ticket types per event with independent capacity and pricing.
Ticket types
Configure on the event detail page > Tickets tab. Common patterns:
- Free RSVP — $0, just collects names.
- General admission — $50 per person.
- VIP — $200, with extra perks listed in the description.
- Sponsor table — $2,500 for a table of 10.
- Early bird — $40 if booked before X date, then auto-converts to General $50.
Each ticket type has its own capacity (e.g. 200 GA, 50 VIP, 5 Sponsor tables).
Add-ons
Optional purchases at registration: silent auction paddle, drink ticket package, raffle entries. Add-ons can be required or optional.
Payment
Online registrations charge through Stripe (the same connected account as donations). Add the credit card processing fee on top to the attendee, or absorb it.
Free tickets
For "this gala is free for board members" — generate a discount code that takes the price to $0 for matching attendees. Codes can be limited (one-time use, max uses, or unlimited).
Receipts and confirmations
Every registration triggers a confirmation email with the ticket details and a calendar invite (.ics file). For paid events, a separate tax receipt PDF is attached if the payment included a deductible donation portion (e.g. $100 ticket = $60 admission + $40 deductible).
