QuickBooks Desktop supportA real CRM for QuickBooks Desktop.
Most CRMs stopped at QuickBooks Online. Tormano connects to QuickBooks Desktop through the official Web Connector — the same CRM, pipeline, and automation, synced to the Desktop company file you actually run.

How the Desktop connection works
Download your connector file
In Tormano's QuickBooks settings, set a Desktop username and password and download the generated .qwc configuration file.
Import it into the Web Connector
On the Windows machine running QuickBooks Desktop, add the file to Intuit's QuickBooks Web Connector and enter the password. The connector authenticates against Tormano over a standards-based SOAP endpoint.
Sync on your schedule
Each session, the connector picks up what changed in Tormano since the last run and writes it to your company file as qbXML: contacts as customers, sales as invoices, donations as sales receipts. Session history and sync health are tracked in Tormano.
Honest about the model
Desktop syncs in scheduled Web Connector sessions — that is how Intuit built the protocol. QuickBooks Online companies sync in real time via webhooks. Both connect to the same Tormano workspace features.
Legacy import paths
IIF export is also supported for legacy QuickBooks Desktop import workflows, alongside CSV import from 21 platforms with 37 templates.
A migration path when you are ready
If you later move to QuickBooks Online, the same Tormano workspace reconnects over Intuit's API with real-time two-way sync — no CRM migration required. Planning the move? See the Desktop-to-Online migration checklist.
Frequently asked questions
Does Tormano really support QuickBooks Desktop?
Yes — through the official QuickBooks Web Connector. Tormano implements the full Web Connector protocol and serves your data as qbXML: contacts sync as customers, deals as invoices, donations as sales receipts, with session history and sync health tracked in the app.
Is Desktop sync real-time like QuickBooks Online?
No, and no honest vendor should claim it is: the Web Connector protocol runs in scheduled sessions you control (for example every 15 minutes or hourly). QuickBooks Online connections sync in real time through Intuit's webhooks.
Which Desktop editions work?
The Web Connector ships with QuickBooks Desktop on Windows, including Pro, Premier, and Enterprise editions that support the Web Connector. The connector machine needs to be on with QuickBooks available for sessions to run.
Can I run Desktop and Online companies side by side?
Each Tormano organization connects to one company transactionally — Desktop via Web Connector or Online via OAuth. Teams managing several companies run one workspace per company; additional QuickBooks Online companies can also be attached read-only for consolidated reporting.
What does it cost?
Desktop support ships with the same plans as everything else: B2B from $29/seat/month annual, nonprofit flat-rate from $49/month. Basic sync is on every plan; the full integration depth ships on Business (B2B) and Professional (Nonprofit).
