QuickBooks integration, comparedHow Tormano's QuickBooks integration compares.
Most CRMs treat QuickBooks as one more app in a marketplace. Tormano was built around it. Below is what we sync, what the alternatives sync, and where each source came from - so you can check every line yourself.
Every competitor row is taken from that vendor's own documentation, linked in the notes under each table. Where a vendor does not publish a fact, we write Not verified rather than guess. Last verified: 12 August 2026.
What Tormano syncs
Tormano figures are measured in our own codebase at the shipped release, not estimated.
Out of the CRM, into QuickBooks
| Tormano record | Becomes in QuickBooks | Trigger |
|---|---|---|
| Contact | Customer | Scheduled sync, or on demand |
| Company / Organization | Customer | Scheduled sync, or on demand |
| Won deal | Invoice | On stage change, or scheduled |
| Completed donation | Sales Receipt | On completion, or scheduled |
| Awarded / active grant | Sales Receipt | Scheduled sync |
| Paid membership | Sales Receipt | Scheduled sync |
| Paid event registration | Sales Receipt | Scheduled sync |
| Invoice | Invoice | Scheduled sync |
| File attachment | Attachable | On upload |
Out of QuickBooks, back into the CRM
Thirteen QuickBooks entity types reach Tormano over a signature-verified webhook, so a change made in QuickBooks lands in the CRM without waiting for a batch window. An hourly change-data-capture job catches anything a missed webhook would otherwise have dropped, and failed webhook events are re-driven daily.
Customer · Invoice · Payment · Sales Receipt · Credit Memo · Refund Receipt · Estimate · Vendor · Bill · Bill Payment · Purchase · Purchase Order · Journal Entry
QuickBooks Desktop
Tormano ships a QuickBooks Web Connector service - the SOAP interface Intuit publishes for Desktop - plus IIF export. Desktop is a first-class path, not a file hand-off.
Beyond sync
Revenue recognition (ASC 606), subscription and recurring-revenue analytics, margin and profitability analysis, working-capital and DSO tracking, smart collections with dunning, multi-currency, multi-entity consolidation, fund accounting mapped to QuickBooks Classes and Locations, budget-vs-actual, P&L by customer, deduplication, conflict resolution, field-level entity rules, and eight native QuickBooks reports.
B2B CRMs
Read this first. Method CRM has the closest thing to a peer integration, and on one measure - the number of QuickBooks tables kept in continuous two-way sync - Method leads. We have not tried to hide that. What follows is the whole picture.

What each vendor's own documentation says
Method CRM - the deepest two-way sync in the category, and we would not claim otherwise. Method documents 33 QuickBooks Online tables (11 fully two-way in real time) and 93 Desktop tables (24 fully two-way). Worth knowing before you choose it: journal entries, deposits, departments/locations, expenses and vendor credits are unsupported on QuickBooks Online; inbound changes are documented at "within 10 minutes", not instant; and Desktop real-time requires QuickBooks to be open on one designated Windows machine. Online tables · Desktop tables · Sync timing
HubSpot - four configurable object pairs (Contact, Product, Invoice, Credit Memo) plus payments. No vendors, bills, purchase orders, journal entries, classes or estimates in the sync. Two-way invoice edits only work if the invoice originated in HubSpot. QuickBooks Online only. HubSpot KB
Pipedrive - first-party and included on all plans, focused on invoicing. Product changes do not sync in either direction; Pipedrive's own setup guide tells you to move a catalogue in by CSV. QuickBooks Online only. Pipedrive KB
Zoho CRM - a genuine native integration, new in 2026. Two constraints to know: once it is on, you can no longer create Quotes, Invoices or Purchase Orders natively in Zoho CRM, and deleting an inventory record in QuickBooks permanently deletes it from Zoho CRM. Zoho KB
Insightly - in Insightly's own words, "the integration does not provide a sync between the two systems." It links and displays records. Automation requires AppConnect, sold separately. Insightly KB
Copper - read-only display of invoices and estimates, matched on email address. Professional and Business plans only. QuickBooks Online only. Copper KB
Nonprofit CRMs
This is the clearer picture. Every nonprofit system we checked pushes gifts one way into QuickBooks. Three of six require a person to select rows and click a button every time.

What each vendor's own documentation says
Bloomerang - the deepest of the nonprofit set, and the only one with any inbound path. Bloomerang describes it plainly: "Both integrations are one-way syncs from the system of record." Six fields lock on a synced transaction - Date, Amount, Fund, Campaign, Appeal, Method - and the lock also fires on transactions marked Do Not Sync, which never went to QuickBooks at all. Desktop is an IIF file download you import by hand. About the integration · Desktop / IIF
DonorPerfect - labelled "Integration Type: One-Direction API" on DonorPerfect's own page. It posts journal entries and nothing else: no sales receipts, no invoices, no pledges, no in-kind gifts. There is no ongoing sync - a person clicks Post Gifts. DonorPerfect
Neon CRM - genuinely broad on transaction types: donations, memberships, event registrations and store purchases all reach QuickBooks, and Desktop runs over a live Web Connector. But Neon's marketing says "automatically record" while its own product tour says "select the transactions you wish to sync, click Sync Transactions." Neon product tour
Virtuous - Virtuous Connect pushes gifts as sales receipts, one way. No invoices, journal entries, deposits or locations. If one transaction fails, the integration pauses all transaction syncs until it is resolved. Desktop is an IIF export. Virtuous marketplace
Givebutter - native and real, on the Plus tier. One-way, sales receipts only, not configurable, daily at 9am ET with auto-sync off by default. Givebutter is explicit that edits never propagate: "changes made to that transaction in Givebutter won't be pushed to QuickBooks." No Desktop support. Givebutter help
Keela - native, one-way, manual, QuickBooks Online only. Keela does not publish which QuickBooks transaction type it creates. In-kind gifts and securities are excluded. Class tracking requires you to be on QuickBooks Online Plus. Keela help
Where we don't lead, and what we couldn't check
A comparison page that only flatters the vendor who wrote it is worth nothing. So:
- Method CRM keeps more QuickBooks tables in continuous two-way sync than we do - 11 on QuickBooks Online and 24 on Desktop, against our 13 entity types flowing back over webhooks. If continuous field-level two-way sync across the widest set of accounting tables is the single thing you are buying, look hard at Method.
- Method and Neon have both been shipping their Desktop connectors far longer than we have. Ours is built and running; theirs has more customer-years behind it.
- We could not read the Intuit App Store listings for most nonprofit vendors - those pages render client-side. We make no claim about their presence, absence or ratings there.
- Sync cadence is not published by Pipedrive, Zoho, Insightly or Copper. Where those vendors say "real-time" in marketing copy without documenting it, we have written Not verified rather than repeat it or dispute it.
- Where a vendor simply does not document a capability, we write Not documented. That means we could not find it - not that it is absent.
If you are one of these vendors and a row is wrong, tell us and we will correct it and note the correction. Every figure here is either measured in our own codebase or linked to your own documentation.
