Online donations require a connected Stripe account. Tormano uses Stripe Connect so funds land directly in your nonprofit's bank account, not Tormano's.

Connecting

  1. Settings > Integrations > Payments > Connect Stripe.
  2. Sign in to Stripe, or create a new Stripe account if you don't have one.
  3. Stripe collects KYC (your nonprofit's EIN, address, principal contact, bank account for deposits).
  4. Once Stripe approves (usually instant for established 501(c)(3)s, up to 7 days for new entities), the Connected status appears in Tormano.

ACH and credit card

Both are supported. ACH is cheaper ($5 flat per transaction) but slower (3-5 business days to settle). Credit cards settle in 2 business days at standard Stripe nonprofit rates (2.2% + $0.30, or lower if you qualify for the Stripe nonprofit discount).

Going live

Test mode shows in the Stripe banner. Once you have a connected account and live API keys, flip the Live mode toggle in Settings > Payments. Test transactions in test mode first by using the test card 4242 4242 4242 4242.

What about Stripe Financial Connections (ACH)?

Tormano supports it. Donors can authenticate to their bank in the donation form and the bank account is verified instantly — no microdeposit waiting period. Configure at Settings > Payments > ACH.
