On Tormano Nonprofit, donations replace deals as the main fundraising entity.

Quick way

Use the + Quick Create dropdown > Donation, or click + Log Donation on the home dashboard's Quick Actions.

Required fields

  • Donor - pick an existing contact, or create one inline.
  • Amount + Currency.
  • Date received - defaults to today.

Optional but recommended

  • Fund - restricted/unrestricted designation. Pick from the funds you've created on the Funds tab (Donations > Funds).
  • Campaign - which fundraising campaign this gift is attributed to.
  • Payment method - Credit Card, Check, Cash, Bank Transfer (ACH), PayPal, Stock Transfer, or Other.
  • Reference number - check #, transaction ID, etc.
  • Notes - anything that won't fit into a structured field.

What happens on save

  • The donation is recorded credited to the selected donor.
  • Workflows that listen for "Donation Created" fire (thank-you email, tax receipt generation, etc.).
  • The fund and campaign rollups update.
  • Audit log entry logged.

Stripe-processed donations

Online donations through your donation forms or P2P pages are recorded automatically with the Stripe charge ID as the reference. You don't need to manually enter those.
