Tormano uses Stripe Connect so funds go directly to your bank account, not Tormano's. We never hold your money.
What Stripe powers
- Online donations (one-time and recurring).
- Event ticketing and add-ons.
- B2B invoice payments (when you send an invoice from a deal).
- Quote payments (CPQ).
- ACH via Stripe Financial Connections (instant bank verification).
Setup
Settings > Integrations > Payments > Connect Stripe. New Stripe account or link an existing one. Stripe collects KYC (EIN, address, principal contact, bank account).
Test vs live mode
Test mode uses Stripe test cards (4242 4242 4242 4242). Tormano shows a banner reminding you when test mode is on. Flip to live in Settings > Payments > Live mode when ready.
Stripe Financial Connections
Donor authenticates to their bank during checkout, account is verified instantly (no microdeposits), then ACH-charged. Cheaper than card ($5 flat vs 2.2% + $0.30) and feels modern. Configure at Settings > Payments > ACH.
Webhooks
Tormano automatically configures Stripe webhooks during connection setup. If you ever see "payment status mismatch" warnings, regenerate the webhook from Settings > Payments > Webhooks > Reset.
Disputes and refunds
Issued from the Stripe dashboard, not from Tormano. Once issued, the refund event syncs back to Tormano within ~30 seconds via webhook and the donation record updates with refunded status.
