The donor portal is the self-service surface where donors manage their relationship with you without staff help.
Where it lives
<your-org>.tormano.com/portal (or your custom subdomain). Donors authenticate via a magic-link emailed to the address on file — no password to forget.
What donors can do
- View their full giving history (every gift, with date, amount, fund, campaign).
- Download tax receipts (single gifts and year-end summaries).
- Update their card or bank account on file.
- Change recurring gift amount or frequency.
- Pause or cancel a recurring gift.
- Update their address, email, phone, communication preferences.
- See their household members' giving (if households are configured).
Why it matters
The portal absorbs the calls and emails your team would otherwise field — "what was my total giving last year?", "I lost the receipt, can you resend?", "I got a new card, can you update it?". Most modern donors expect to handle these themselves.
Customization
Settings > Donor Portal. Customize the welcome message, color scheme, logo, and which features are enabled. The portal honors your white-label settings (custom domain, custom email sender) on Growth + Enterprise plans.
Authentication security
Magic links expire in 15 minutes. Rate-limited to 3 link requests per IP per hour. The portal is fully audited — every donor self-service action writes to the audit log so you can investigate disputes.
