The donor portal

Public-facing portal for donors to view gifts and manage recurring giving.

2 min read · Updated Jul 4, 2026

The donor portal is the self-service surface where donors can review their giving and manage a recurring gift without staff help.

Where it lives

The portal is at /donor-portal. A donor enters their email and your organization's slug, and Tormano emails them a one-time sign-in link — no password to remember.

What donors can do

The portal has two tabs:

  • Giving History — every gift, with date, amount, type, and status, and a Receipt link to download each one.
  • Recurring Gifts — their active recurring gifts, each showing amount, frequency, and next billing date, with a Cancel button to stop future charges.

Why it matters

The portal absorbs common requests your team would otherwise field — "what did I give last year?", "I lost the receipt, can you resend?", "please stop my monthly gift". Donors can handle these themselves.

Branding

The portal follows your organization's branding. Custom-domain and custom email-sender branding (white-label) is available on the Professional plan.

Authentication security

Sign-in links expire in 24 hours. Requests are rate-limited — three per email per hour from a given IP address, plus a global ceiling of 30 sign-in attempts per hour per IP — to prevent enumeration and email-bombing. Donor self-service actions are written to the audit log.
