Deleting a contact in Tormano is a soft delete — the record is hidden from lists but still in the database for 30 days, after which it's permanently purged.
During the recovery window
Go to Settings > Data Compliance > Deleted Records. You'll see every soft-deleted record with delete date, deleter, and reason. Click Restore to bring it back. All linked activities, deals/donations, and tags come back with it.
After 30 days
The record is permanently gone, along with its custom field values. Linked activities and deals are kept (their references to the contact become null), but you cannot recover the contact itself.
How to delete sooner
For GDPR or CCPA right-to-be-forgotten requests, use Settings > Data Compliance > Erasure Requests to immediately purge a contact and all their PII. This bypasses the 30-day window. The action is logged in the immutable audit trail.
Bulk restore
Use the row checkboxes in the Deleted Records list to restore multiple records at once. Bulk restore respects field permissions — you can only restore contacts you'd be allowed to view if they were live.
