Add a single contact from any page using the + button in the top bar, or from inside Contacts using + New Contact.
Required fields
- First name is the only always-required field. Last name is optional.
- On create, Tormano also asks for at least one way to reach the contact, so you need to fill in either an email or a phone number (both are optional individually — just supply one of them).
Everything else can be added later.
Optional fields
Phone (primary and secondary), job title, company link, lifecycle stage, owner, tags, address, custom fields. Any custom fields configured for your org appear at the bottom of the form.
What happens on save
- The contact is created with you as the owner (unless you assign someone else).
- The creation is logged in the audit trail.
- Any active automations that listen for "Contact Created" fire (welcome email, owner assignment, etc.).
- If Auto-Enrichment is enabled, the system asynchronously pulls public data from the email domain, social profiles, and website metadata.
About duplicates
Creating a contact does not block or warn you if a similar record already exists — the form saves whatever you enter. Deduplication is handled separately by the dedup tool at Data > Duplicates, which matches on email, phone, and name, plus a scheduled background scan. See "Merging and deduplicating contacts" for how to find and combine duplicates after the fact.
