TormanoOpen Data > Duplicates. Tormano groups likely duplicate contacts by email, phone, and name, and keeps looking as new records arrive, so duplicates show up on their own.
How detection works
Contacts are grouped by:
- Email match
- Phone match
- Name match (exact)
- Similar name: a fuzzy match that shows a similarity percentage for each group
Reviewing and merging
Each duplicate group is shown side by side. You choose one record to keep with Keep This; that record becomes the survivor and its field values are retained. The other records in the group are merged into it.
What gets preserved
- All deals, activities, donations, notes, and tags from the merged records move onto the record you kept.
- Tags are combined without creating duplicates.
- The kept record’s own field values stay as they are.
Undoing a merge
Merges are reversible for 30 days. The Recent merges list on the same page has an Undo for each one: it brings the merged contact back, while the deals, activities, and donations that moved stay on the contact you kept. Every merge is written to the audit trail.

To clean up a messy list in bulk rather than one group at a time, use Data > Data Quality.
