Google Workspace (Sign-in + Calendar + Drive)

What Tormano can and cannot do with your Google account.

3 min read · Updated Aug 3, 2026

Tormano connects to Google for sign-in, calendar, and Drive - each independent, and each using the narrowest permission Google offers.

Tormano deliberately requests no sensitive and no restricted Google permissions. In practice that means Tormano can add its own meetings to your calendar and see when you are busy, but cannot read your other calendars' event details, and cannot read or send your email.

Google Sign-In

This is a login-page button, not a Settings toggle. On the sign-in screen your team can click Continue with Google instead of typing a password. Supports Google Workspace and personal Google accounts. (This is separate from SAML SSO, which is configured on the Security page's SSO tab and is for enterprise identity providers only.)

Google Calendar

Connect at Calendar in the sidebar (open the settings gear on its tab strip), or go straight to Settings > Calendar Accounts (/settings/calendar).

When you connect, Tormano creates a new calendar called "Tormano CRM" inside your Google account. Meetings booked through Tormano - from a contact record or from one of your public booking pages - are written into that calendar, so they show up in Google Calendar and on your phone alongside everything else. Rescheduling or cancelling in Tormano updates or removes the Google event too.

Tormano also checks your free/busy times across your calendars, so a booking page never offers a slot you are already busy in. Free/busy tells Tormano when you are booked and nothing else - not the title, not the guests, not the notes.

What Tormano cannot do, by design:

  • It cannot read the events on your main calendar. It has no access to that calendar at all.
  • It does not copy your existing Google events into Tormano. The Events tab shows meetings Tormano itself created, not your whole schedule.
  • It only ever writes to the "Tormano CRM" calendar it made. It cannot add to, edit, or delete anything on your other calendars.

If you delete the "Tormano CRM" calendar in Google, reconnect from the settings page and Tormano will make a new one.

Email (Gmail)

Gmail is not connected through Google sign-in. Tormano removed the Gmail OAuth permissions, so it never asks Google for access to your mailbox and Google never grants it any.

You can still connect a Gmail mailbox yourself, using an app password instead: Settings > Email Accounts > Connect > "Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo, Fastmail or other". An app password is a one-off password Google generates for a single app at myaccount.google.com/apppasswords - Tormano never sees your real Google password, and you can revoke the app password at any time from your Google account without touching anything else.

Connecting a mailbox is optional. Tormano sends your campaign and transactional email through its own delivery service regardless - see "How Tormano sends email".

Google Drive

Connect at Settings > Integrations > Google Drive. Tormano can save a CRM file to your Drive and attach a Drive file to a record. It can only touch files it created or files you explicitly pick - never your whole Drive.

Token storage

Google tokens are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) and decrypted only when used. You can revoke Tormano's access at any time from your Google Account's security settings.
