Companies support the same nine custom field types as contacts (Text, Number, Date, Yes/No, Dropdown single, Dropdown multi, URL, Email, Phone).
Where to manage
Settings > Custom Fields > Companies tab. Add, reorder, edit, or hide fields here. The Companies tab is B2B-only — it's hidden on the Nonprofit edition, which exposes Contacts, Donations, and Activities instead. Each entity type can hold up to 50 custom fields.
Common patterns
- B2B: account tier, industry segment, MRR, contract end date, account manager region, technology stack.
- Nonprofit: school district, grade levels served, partnership status, Title I designation, accreditation body.
Audience-specific scoping
Like contact custom fields, you can scope a company custom field to a specific tag — useful when a field only applies to a subset (e.g. only schools that participate in Program FL get a "Field Trip Permit Required" checkbox).
Field permissions
Custom field permissions in Settings > Field Permissions apply to companies just like contacts. Hidden fields don't appear in forms, lists, exports, or reports for users without access.
Reporting
All company custom fields are filterable and groupable in the report builder, available as columns, and exportable to CSV.
