Creating a company or organization

Add a company record and link contacts to it.

On Tormano CRM (B2B), this entity is called Companies. On Tormano Nonprofit, it's Organizations — used for schools, foundations, partner agencies, and corporate sponsors.

Create a record

Click + New Company (or + New Organization in the Nonprofit edition) on the list page, or use the + Quick Create dropdown. Only one field is required: Name.

Optional fields

Domain (e.g. acme.com — used for auto-enrichment), industry, employee count, annual revenue, parent company, owner, address (line 1 + 2, city, state, postal code, country), notes, custom fields.

What happens on save

  • The record is created with you as owner unless you assign someone else.
  • If Auto-Enrichment is enabled and you supplied a domain, the system asynchronously fetches website metadata (title, description, social links, technology stack) and may fill missing fields.
  • Audit trail entry is logged.

Linking contacts

After creation, the company detail page opens on Overview and has tabs for Overview, Activities, Notes, Contacts, and Files (Nonprofit adds a Giving tab that shows the organization's donation history). Use the + Add Contact action on the Contacts tab to inline-create a new contact already linked to this company, or attach an existing contact via the typeahead.
