Grants in Tormano follow a Kanban pipeline similar to Deals, but tuned for foundation and government funding cycles.
Default stages
Prospect > Researching > LOI Submitted > Application In Progress > Application Submitted > Under Review > Awarded > Reporting Period > Closed.
Customize them in Settings > Pipelines > Grants if your workflow differs.
Required fields when creating
- Grant name — usually "[Funder Name] [Year] Grant"
- Funder — link to a Company/Organization record (recommended) or freeform text
- Amount requested — what you're asking for
- Submission deadline — when the application is due
- Reporting deadline — when interim/final reports are due (if awarded)
Optional fields
Amount awarded (filled in once awarded), program/project this funds, restriction (general op vs project-restricted), narrative status, attached files, custom fields like funder priority area or grant cycle.
Status visibility
The dashboard at /nonprofit/grants shows total in pipeline, total awarded YTD, success rate (awarded / submitted), upcoming deadlines, and stale grants (no activity in 30+ days).
