Time in Stage report

See how long deals sit in each pipeline stage.

1 min read · Updated Jul 17, 2026

The Time in Stage report shows, for each pipeline stage, how many deals are sitting there now, their average age in the stage, and the average time deals have historically spent in the stage before moving on.

Where to find it

Open Deals and go to the Analytics view. The Time in Stage section is at the top.

How to read it

  • Deals here now — how many open deals are currently in the stage.
  • Avg age (current) — the average time those current deals have been sitting in the stage.
  • Avg time in stage (historical) — the average time completed transitions spent in the stage before moving to the next one. This is your stage "velocity."

Long average times point to bottleneck stages worth investigating.

Forward-only

The report is built from stage changes recorded from the day the feature shipped onward. It does not reconstruct history from before that, so a brand-new pipeline shows data only after deals start moving between stages. Stages with no recorded movement yet simply show no data rather than a fabricated number.
